Something With Numbers

swn.jpg

Explosive, Intense and Sincere are just some of the words that could be used to describe Something With Numbers. Not only have they found themselves on a record label but they have also toured Melbourne, Brisbane, Canberra and regional New South Wales with some of Australias better known punk bands such as One Dollar Short, Bodyjar, Seraphs Coal and For Amusement Only and Goldfinger.

Their style has a bit of everything in it, some call it punk others call it Emo and some people even claim it just ROCK, but whatever it is these guys seem to be doing it right! However if I had to define their sound and style I would definitely say Saves The Day meets At The Drive In with the pop sensibilities of One Dollar Short.

These guys have seemed to achieved a lot in such a short period of time and also without the aid of a release. So why is there such a buzz around this band you ask? Well it just comes down to mature precise songwriting and their energetic live presence. They have an ability to slow things down and then go into full throttle speed with the vocals telling stories of betrayal, broken hearts and everyday pressures in such an emotional and personal tone.

On a personal note, I remember the first time I saw these guys, someone told me the singer dude sung pretty high. I got all pissed off expecting another awful New Found Glory in our midst.  I sure as hell slapped myself after these guys got started, coz it's been forever since I've heard a quality band like this!  Those vocals are fucking awesome, and they are pretty much the MOST passionate band going at the moment. Cant get enough of that ep too! *cough*thebarniclesandstripes*cough*
